Hi, I am Laura.
And I want to take
you on a journey.

Since then, a profound interest in this discipline, in its philosophy and its teachings, brought me to practise for around 15 years with different teachers, from different styles, in different continents. At the age of twenty-one I started my first 200 hours Yoga teacher training in Hatha Yoga at Three Treasure Yoga in Italy. Few years later, while living in India, I studied Yoga Therapy at the Center for Integrative Medicine & Research at Manipal University. These experiences brought me the desire to dive deeper into the subtle realm of yoga and I started a four year education in Yoga Ratna, a style of yoga focusing on the symbolic aspect and the feminine body.

The journey is based on my personal story – made from many different pieces of myself that connected on the way – and continue to do so. The first time I practised yoga, I was fascinated by the effects that performing a few positions while focusing on my breath in full presence could have on myself. I experienced a state of deep tranquillity, clarity and vitality like never before. And, for the first time, I was taught how to consciously create these states and access them.

My practices are based on the principle of vitality and of a continuous learning about
one-self

My personal practice, the core of my journey, has been in continuous evolution, nourished by the variety of experiences of my life. It was complemented by the study and practice of Thai Yoga Massage at the Sunshine Network in Thailand and an in-depth study of Ayurveda medicine at the Ayurveda Sanctuary in the jungle of Karnataka, India. But in its essence, the daily experience of Yoga, kept the core elements of my very first time on the mat: full presence, awareness in the body and the mind and focus on the experience of the breath.

Simultaneously, my interest for the body and its movement brought me to study biomechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, to deepen my understanding of the bodies complexity with a scientific approach. It opened me to cutting-edge studies and technologies of the science of motion, that connects every human being, from the simple act of walking to the performances of athletes.

The combination of my yoga research, my personal experiences, my biomechanical background and a never-ending curiosity in exploring the body and its potential, is the key ingredient of my teachings. In my practices, the basis lies in the principle of vitality and of a continuous learning about one-self. To deepen these experiences we work on different layers of our being – the physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual body.

Ready to go on a journey?

With love,
Laura

Why Khari Movement?

A story about a new paradigm of life.

For a few years I have been living between Zurich and Nairobi. In East Africa I got closer to a culture that has taught me a different perspective of the values of abundance and richness. I experienced richness in the power of communities, where things that are seemingly impossible on an individual level, become possible. And I experienced pure abundance in nature, majestic and unstoppable in its expression. When we are able to perceive the different ways life is expressing abundance, we shift from a state of lacking and needing more, to the feeling of fulfillment and awe, at a very deep level. Because we understand that this ability lies in us. We start feeling like a Queen or a King. We have access to a new way of experiencing life that has nothing to do with our status or external conditions. It is our choice. But we first need to know that we have that choice. Khari is a gender-neutral name of Swahili origin, meaning “queenly” or “kingly”. The name Khari becomes inherently the carrier of this status. A reminder of the continuous choice of accessing the state of abundance, that slowly becomes part of our reality.
Let us create a movement that empowers from within and connects us to the shore of a new paradigm. Welcome to Khari Movement.
